| I can't begin to stress how poor of an idea removing the upper hard line and drapping feet & feet of rubber hose over a moving engine is. The hard line is there to firmly hold the fuel system feed lines away from moving/vibrating parts of the motor. heat soak is a non issue - the system moves fuel far too quickly for it to transfer heat in that limited location. I have "undone" this "mod" on ever single car that has ever come to my garage. I consistantly find the same flaws with this idea. 1. people cheap out/dont know any better and use non fuel injection line, which is asking for a rupture @ high pressure. 2. 3-4 foot sections of rubber line are laying on the motor w. obvious wear, cuts/nicks and rubbing marks in them 3. they delete/omit or otherwise mis-connect the fuel pressure regulartor vac source and in effect lean out their motor. 4. they use crappy worm clamps which are cutting into the crappy hose they used 5. the rubber hose is kinking where it doubles back to the fuel pressure regulator and causing a constriction, or its laying on the balance tube and rubbing against the hood.
I really don't recommend this and truely believe that it creates are more potential problems then it atempts to "solve". You will not find a single car manufacturer that has sections of fuel injection line used in the lenghts or configurations suggested here.
