We have three different core designs and will be doing a performance/efficiency test using a 25 gallon heated water source, source temperature, outlet temperature, and ambient temperature. We have all of this plus a water pump to produce flow and will be using the Spal fan with a shroud to provide ambient airflow. This will not be a steady-state test; it will be a performance test to monitor the cooling rate in BTU/min on a body of heated water/glycol. We will also be able to determine cooling efficiency across a broad range of inlet temperatures and we will be datalogging the temperature drop of the system as a whole vs. time. No car involved - we will be performing these same tests on other radiators as well so we can see comparisons on how effective this setup is.
