Message So about 5 months back i was going to start building a z again. I had about 6k to start with and figured i was building one and this isnt my first rodeo with z32s i would do it from scratch. I was searching on here and craigslist and managed to find a 90 tt shell that look pretty clean in pictures and was caged. Not sure if anyone remembers seeing it in the classys but i deffinetly regret buying it.

I sent a buddy with a truck to go pick it up from NY. I should have went with him but was trying to save an argument with my girlfriend. Anyways long story short and after speaking with guy on phone asking him specific questions, i got screwed. Car has grey hatch and cars black, looks like they wet sanded it without the water. He took every relay/fuse out of the car even the brake light one. He assured me wiring was all stock and the car had just ran a 10 flat not too long ago. The z was missing majority of its body harnesses and had a canadian harness up front. I was told heat and everything could be put back in if i bought it all. The way he modified the tranny tunnel made it impossible to have heater core bolt in. To top it off he moved the steering alittle and the turning radius changed. Car wont pull a u turn in an empty parking lot. So i decided it would be a shit ton of work and trying to find correct corresponding harnesses to get this thing back together again. After seeing a friends fx7 make 900hp with a blown 383 i was convinced what i had to do...

I know many people on here wouldnt agree but too be honest the way the shell, it most likely were to be scrapped. Ive had my thoughts multiple times. The way the car was setup actually suited the swap very well. He claims the car weighed 2900lbs with the vg so as long as that statement was true this car is going to be an excellent track car now. Mabe a weekend warrior if it can make a left or right turn lol.

I have plenty of time to do things to the car little by little. Most the things done on the car were done before knowing if the motor would even be any good so Its obviously not rd worthy yet. I was thinking of making a tranny mount that used stock tranny mount holes but it may be just a little far away. I need to secure my braided fuel line to chasis, install radiator and electric fans, install alternator and the belt(wiring siting there already), install my nitrous "plate" kit after motor and cam break in process is done, install custom driveshaft, install new pads and rotors, install throttle cable. Im sure theres afew more things but the way the car sits now i could start it and run the motor. I did a pretty decent rattle can job on engine bay. Like i said car most likely go to track and back.

As for the mods - 406 sbc about 11.1 compression, trw flat tops, dart pro1 heads 64cc/215intake, comp cam 12-250-3, edlebrock rpm intake mani, barry grant 750 dbl pump carb, th400 tranny(no convertor yet), 2900lb car, twin turbo gears.(have some na gears in my shop waiting to be put on, just dunno if they are neccesary) should do 10s with the spray. Low 11s on motor.

Power wise im hoping for over 500 at motor and because of the th400 tranny i dont want to see less than 415whp on 93oct. hopefully more obviously. Ill see after its tuned. Im spraying 150 shot with the plate kit ontop of whatever hp it makes. If it blows up it then it blows up. I just want to see how the car feels and see if the shell is any good. My goal is if this works fine, have fun with it and buy a dart short block and go twin turbo. There enormous amounts of room for it.

Total im $5500 into the car tops right now. Thats shell, built motor, accesories, external pump w/ lines ect... i think i have about another 1100 to spend to put it on the rd.

Feel free to comment. I posted this on 3zc and got a pm saying i had a warning for some reason like an hr later. Kind of funny compared to some other posts in that section.
