There is certainly enough energy there, but there are many practical issues. I mention it because it could be the most quickly usable alternative energy source. The technology is at a functioning level now. We just have to decide to make it a priority. We will probably use oil/coal for many years after other energy sources are useful, but imagine a world in which we use only 10% of the oil/coal we use now. (For example: Our great-grandchildren might still have cheap plastic things to buy.) The facts I stated are well known among those that study such things.
