Message I bet you that you wont! (Yes those VQ's are solid lifters stock). If you shim them properly they don't sound bad. The hydro's ticking on some VG's is worse sounding in some cases IMO.

Anything that is less likely to cause maintenance problems, and/or simplifies something is good in my book, it's just expensive to buy them (for such little gains) and impractical to shim all 24 lifters in the VG. Also I have heard from a few sources, Tomei solid lifter springs don't have enough opening pressure on them. So be aware of some of the actual products out there too.


And to correct you. JWT 500's "Wild Cams" are not for solid lifters. JWT "Solid Lifter Race Cams" are for solid lifters :)
