Subject	When does it become neccesary to run solid lifters?

Message	I understand that cars running high rpm use them, but when (possibly an rpm number) does it actually become a requirement? Could you run a R4+ cam with proper valvetrain up to 8000+ on hydrolics? If solids are needed is there a noticable increase in engine wear? TT BEAST IN PROGRESS!
