or it could be a pinched lower O-ring. If I were you, since the car is salvage, I would first get it apart to see what the total damage is. Just to make certain bringing it back is a worthwhile proposition. Likewise, I'd be buying used parts for items that do not require being new. eg. springs, exhaust, trim pieces, etc. There are a couple of dozen parts cars being advertised everyday in our Classified Sections.
