| Shipping rates have risen drastically over the past couple years and the carriers have also become much more concerned with collecting extra fees anywhere they can. Oversize fees, charges for based on dimensional weight, and the formulas for calculating them are more aggressive. A larger box often costs 3 to 4 times as much to ship as a smaller box of the same weight. These are large fragile fiberglass items. We have to invest in production runs of custom sized boxes and spend extra time and expense on packaging to avoid any problems. We do not care to deal with the hassle of a shipping insurance claim and you as the customer don't want that either. It would be interesting for someone to take one of these items unboxed to a local FedEx store and see how much they would charge you to pack it and ship it across the country (or to Canada). I think the results would be shocking to most of you. Nothing about these products is cheap, but we are dealing with a limited production bulk sized product custom made in Peru! If you don't want to spend the money for these items then that is your choice, but no need to insinuate that there is any price gouging going on of any sort. We've all worked really hard to keep costs down.
