Message Since TT.net locks old messages im adding a new thread for a follow up.

Issue - Optima Red Top: was having voltage and amperage issues. Mysterious power drains and 'no start' issues.

Solution - Replaced with Optima Yellow top. Works great.

Issue - While hunting down mysterious battery drain with multimeter, my genius self had the key on ignition mode while pulling fuses and I had my coolant temp ground on the PTU harness ground which I disconnected in the process of pulling fuses... Sure enough the PTU was fried while doing this. Got 0 volts across PTU.

Solution - Rewired all gages and used 'create a fuse block' connector for the constant 12+. Moved ground source of the temp sender to area not tied to anything critical. Got a used PTU from Austin Z Clinic. Checked all wiring behind Deck and turbo timer. Will replace alternator next, I am only getting up to 14V while charging if im lucky, usually around 13.5... will post follow up if not locked. But just assume that new alt fixed charging issue.
