Message Given the same two woofers with the same two tweeters, except one component and one coax, the components should sound better regardless simply due to the crossover and letting each woofer play the frequencies its suited for...small effect, but likely noticeable to some.

Now remove the tweeter from the woofer, and place it on the door pointing at your ears...having the tweeters placed up high and pointing towards your head makes an astonishing difference in quality...regardless of power...its the physics of how high frequency sound travels compared to lower frequency. You wont hear highs if the tweeter is pointed at your legs. Im not an audiophile (not even close), but the difference between having a tweeter pointed at your head or not is very noticeable to me, however like you said...you need to hear it yourself...i may have never known the difference without having the tweeter pointed at my head in the first place.

Want to get the most of your components? Obviously much more power is needed. Youve seen good components sound bad while underpowered...i can pretty much gaurantee they still sound better than a coax equivalent.
