The cheapest generic downpipe and test pipe on ebay is $109 shipped!!! wtf, but really I'd take that generic ass 2.4" system over gutted pre-cats and cats any day. FYI, for your question of value range for the pre-cat/cat material at the scrap yards, all I can tell you is that the price of platinum has come down so the price as of 2011 here is WAYYYY less then what I was getting paid for them back in 2008
