If I fail to find anything by next week after comp test, VTC check, etc. I am going to have it bore-scoped, just to eliminate my worst-case scenario fears. I agree on the possibility that it is a retainer. There was a bit of headwork done (valve job, etc) when the engine was rebuilt. For those that are deceived a bit by the sound of the video, there is NO bottom end knock. This is all from one spot, in the top end.
