Subject	exhaust system getting too expensive

Message	here is the story, I bought my Z and it came with an unknown exhaust system all sections were welded together, welded to downpipes as well. so to removed the exhaust I have to cut off the pipes near the downpipe, I am currently doing a rebuild and it time to start thinking about getting a good exhaust system. I lived in Virginia and need to pass inspection and emission yearly. Here is the one system that I like - Labree SS with x pipe and resonator $1200 - labree test pipe w/ smog legal cat $600 WOW almost 2 grands. any suggestion of how can I reduce the cost as I don't mind to switch the test pipes once a year. any thing i can do with my old/ non bolt-on exhaust
