| I keep a heavy duty cover on my car while my carport gets a new roof. There are large tall trees above, that shed sap and fine debris. Frequently, I peel the front 1/2 of the cover off to open the hood and doors and rest the folded bundle on the hatch. The things gets so grungy I refuse to store in in the trunk. At some point I must have unknowingly operated the rear wiper with this bundle atop the rear of the car. Today I noticed the wiper arm is bent pretty badly. The fuse did not blow so the motor was not overloaded but it worked hard enough to trash the arm. The blade seems to have survived. As you are well aware of, the antenna deploys automatically if the radio is activated. This has also happend but I was able to react and save it. I expect some deterioration over time, but I really hate it when I do the damage myself.
