Message Finally got to put the Z on the ground last weekend and drive it. Appears everything is good so far. Hit a few last min snags I had to deal with though of course.

I made the post of the my CZP 2.5 ic pipe install. I had stated how I was going to use the boost reference ports and put the snow water injection nozzles in there for a much cleaner look (Coz made the pipes to accept the Snow nozzles in that location or put a bung there for boost controller lines). Well after everything was installed I ran into an issue of course. Went to put the nozzle in and found I had no room. The coolant pipe/hose was in the way. I was told people were using thier snow nozzles mounted here but couldnt see how. My ports pointed right at the hose.

Coz sent me some pics of an install they did. Issue is the hard lower coolant pipe set up puts the hose right where the nozzle and fitting need to go. Coz's pics are using an oem lower hose. It has multiple bends in it so it lays differently. Still not a very good layout in my opinion, too tight. He is going to change the port locations now to give more clearance.

Well with the dyno day fast approaching I had to get my nozzles mounted some how and I was short on time. I saw pics of the tb pipes that come with Ash's ic pipe kit with bungs in them. Ash agreed to make me a set of pipes. I hate how bulky the Snow nozzle set ups are but I needed something. Since the 2 kits use different pipe shapes I sent him my Coz pipes and he made a set based off them and where I marked them where I would want the nozzles so they clear everything. Coz agreed he would have them chromed for me so I'll be sending them off after the dyno day. Coz also sent me a spare set of pipes to use so I could run the car while Ash had my pipes. Great help from both venders.

1 mess down. Then I started to think about my current water injection set up and how old it was. Since SZ isnt eer here I wanted to make sure everything was going to work as needed. I decided to get a new updated pump and a new controller. My old set up ran off of a boost sensor and was an 125psi pump. New pump is 220psi and I got one of Snows progressive controllers. The controller runs off of maf signal or boost signal (I used boost) and ramps up the pump pressure per what start and max settings you program on it. This is better then dumping on full blast at a set point as in older setups like I had. The new stuff is a very easy set up. My whole system is much simpler and cleaner as I was able to remove a lot of parts that are no longer used as well.

My old boost pressure sensor was removed

New controller installed in the same spot. Easy to get to the adjustment dials and the boost pressure port and wires are on the bottom and go right into the fender area keeping clutter down.

Also got to get rid of my accumulator and on/off fluid switch. Here are some older pics

Switch mounted on the bumper brace.

Here is how I had my old pump mounted for years.

Decided to use the same spot for the new pump since its the same size and due to time. I think since I removed my accumulator I have more room up front now. I have an idea for a bracket to mount the pump up there, but I'll look into that at a later date. I also was able to still use the stock tank for my injection fluid. I had to heat the bottom and form it a tad in order to make room for the larger ic pipes. So far everything works fine.

Water injection seems to be working fine so far. I plan on getting one of the safe injection units that you can wire on to kill the boost controller solenoid if the fluid pressure drops (an in an issue). Kind of a safety boost set up.

With the new pipes I seem to have an issue with the rpms dipping when I come to a stop that wasnt there before. Boost leak test is good, no leaks. Also since I fixed my cam CAS gear issue my CAS seems to want to be clocked all the way to the other side of the adjustment than where it was before, and not in the middle. Have to look into that. I put on a new timing belt and checked my cam gear timing before putting the engine back together so everything should be good there. Hoping its nothing major. Car runs great otherwise.

Timing belt covers and fan should are off to ease the adjustment of the cam gears when on the dyno. They will be going back on after we are done. So I should be ready to go. Can't wait for Sat. Should be fun :)
