Ugh.....
 Now to rummage through my boxes, find the AIV units, and reinstall them so I can pass the visual portion of the test. This wasn't an issue on the two prior smog checks so this makes me wonder if they're cracking down on the visuals or if I happened to get lucky enough to go to a shop that's OCD about this stuff. What's funny is that I wasn't expecting to fail for this reason. My engine has been showing it's age more and more (low compression on cyl 6) and idles somewhat rough. So I figured passing the emissions portion of the test was going to be a squeaker. But I didn't have a problem in that area - thankfully. At least I don't have to worry about having nothing to do this Saturday. :-P Dave
