Message Westin belongs to the Starwood Group, so my member card got us a room on the 15th floor with balcony. As was said, it was something of a let-down after last year. I started having doubts about the organization when registration took forever to open up. There really wasn't the enthusiasm I expected either. I spent a shitload of cash there. Forgot my shaving cream, so on Morning 1 I went down to purchase the travel size Foamy sold in the hotel shop. You know the type sold in the Walmart .50 bin? I paid four American dollars for it! The weather wasn't that bad considering the Virginia Beach area had suffered through high humidity and 98+ temps the entire week before. Savannah was relatively cool. Of all the miscues and disappointments the biggest was that the Service Manager didn't want to give the ZCon discount for breakfast on the morning of departure. I had to fight with the guy. Something about not having checked out of my room and still a hotel guest didn't register. Even after another group left five minutes before and the got the discount. His excuse "the guy that gave them the discount isn't a server". WTF? Anyway, I got it, and got ghost !
