Finally starting to tear apart my old TT engine and figured I'd get a gasket kit and replace just about everything including the head gaskets. Few questions though... 1. Is it recommended to reuse the main/head bolts or replace with ARP/OEM ones. I don't think the heads have ever come off the engine with prior owners. 2. Is rebuilding the heads a DIY task for someone mechanically inclined or is this one of those things that you leave to the pros if you've never done it yourself. Also, there would have been no way to warm up the engine after the wreck but did COLD compressions numbers and got the following: 130,119,125,118,130,118. With ~150K on the motor, is it about that time to start worrying about rebuilding the heads/pistons. Besides leaky valve covers, the car never burned oil except the typical symptoms of the turbos going out. My thoughts would be to buy a gasket kit, new timing belt, hoses, and other misc odds & ends keeping the rest of the 120K stuff intact since there are no other leaks and the 120K job has about 30K on it. Any input welcome and appreciated.
