Message There's plenty of data through a search to reflect that the lost optimum lumen output (most amount of light getting down the road) comes from HID's rated from ~ 4200k to 4500k.
Anything higher than that gets bluer to purple and generates less usable light. Anything lower leans towards a more yellow light color and again less usable light.
Those that opt for the higher number (blue and purle) color HID's are usually those that are looking for esthetics and not functional performance.
What is the motive/purpose for your HID desires?
