if you have an ESPN bodybuilder forearm you wouldn't be able to reach down to the manifold nut. Another option where I've done the EGR delete is to just pull the lower intake plenum too (then you wont have to worry about pulling the bolts holding the EGR to the plenum due to the tight firewall). Pull the whole thing as one unit so much easier. You would of course have to address the timing belt issue though. You can clamp the timing belt, or do the EGR delete when doing a timing belt replacement.
