| to get it to even close to oem hood. First, figure out what you need them for. If you plan on hitting the track you need venting that pulls hot air out. Uruas style vent usually works well for most. The oem hood is so light, going with the CF is almost not worth it especially with the gamble of a bad fit. If you throw in the need for hood pins, you definetely do not want to use a CF hood unless it's made for it. As the mounting point almost always cracks as VIS hoods don't stand up to a tight fit and the abuse. The Escort is a pretty damn good hood, but is rather expensive. Otherwise just condiser customization of the stock hood. It's sturdy, fit is good, lightweight and will take hood pins nicely. Just my $.02 over the years of altering hoods. Kuah is also a good person to talk to on that subject as he's altered plenty of hoods for racing as well.
