slide seat all the way back, hold the buckle a few inches from the clasp, jerk the seat belt to lock it, buckle belt, slide seat forwards into driving position. I did this for two years in my Subaru at the track with excellent results. The car in question was too difficult/expensive to modify with an aftermarket seat or harness setup. The "trick" was shown to me by an instructor as a free alternative to the CG-lock.
