Message Taking heads, valves and seals and heating them when installing the valve stem seals? I klnow in the fsm it talks of doing this for the valve guides but a buddy told me (who has many years experience of building race motors...) to put oill in a coffe mug and heat the oil to about 180F and then drop in valve stem seals and let them heat up for a bit and also heat the head and valves to about the same and then install the seals in the head. My bud told me he has been doing this for years to reassure that they don't leak and he has never had one leak after taking this approach.... Wanted to knoiw what you guys think...
