The rear end bushings were completely shot, the control arms were worn, basically check the entire rear end for play. A Cheap way to see what is happening is to do a rolling burn out :-) Done it a few times on a few cars it is interesting how a bad alignment will give a contact patch of a 225 on a 345 tire. My point is check your alignment for too much negative camber as well.
