| he kept explaining that if we cross the border with these cars our insurance cannot cover us because the US doesnt support these cars? and then he goes further to say that the safety equipment on the engines in the rhd versions are only supported until 280hp lol so i was like well just so you know the engines are pretty much identical and have interchangeable parts ... so then he gives us the best response yet... "Well parts like the headlights and brake lines are not DOT approved in the US so we dont think it is safe to be driving cars without US DOT approved parts" like after talking to him, he said that skylines are not crash tested in NA, which makes sence because they were never sold here, but i was like 300s and rx7s and mr2s were all sold in NA, they are just RHD versions for other countries... so in the end he said okay well if you guys want to cross, you need to have a broker come and appraise your car, and then he has to put up a bond of 10 times the appraised value on each car incase you get in an accident because your insurance wont cover you here lol... and then he said but since its friday im sure you wont be able to get one here in time before the weekend, and it is likely to cost in excess of 500$ each person for them to do this
