Not just the Y vs T fitting. The stock wiring and plumbing is for a single pump. Instead the OEM feed line, the Y should feed into a -8 AN bulkhead, then all the way to the fuel rails. And with the stock wiring, at higher output level, the wiring and control can not supply enough ampage to provide enough volume of fuel. The stock FP control output should be wired into a relay and have a much thicker wire (6 gauge) go through the cover for the two pumps.
