Message They don't perform as intended until they reach and maintain their proper operating temp, which nobody is going to achieve while street driving. They are intended for track, they have typically > 100 treadwear and thus short life if daily driven. And tend to be expensive.

Honestly, with all the great choices in UHP/Extreme performance tires out there, there is no reason to run R comps on the street, you're not gaining anything.

And R-888's perform excellently in the rain, once they have been brought up to temp. Ran them several times at rain events.
