The things folks buy at HF are fairly generic, available under many different labels, and often coming from the same factory as the item available from another source. The AMS thing, is that a niche z32 parts developer, will spend their, time, money, and brain power developing a specialized part for a small market. Than AMS will take that part and have it reproduced, likely with lower quality materials, and undersell the inventor, as quickly as they can get the part reproduced. The guy who invented the ratchet made his money a long time ago, and now there are various quality levels available from various sources, and millions of them sold annually around the world.
