Message confusing the vane designs with the cross drilled holes.

ALL 300zx Brake Rotors have vanes of some type (in between the brake surfaces). OEM rotors are a pillar vane type if I recall correctly. Most aftermarket BBKs switch to a directional vane.

None of the OEM brake rotors for the 300zx have the cross drilled holes or slots from the factory.

The slots and cross drilled holes are designed for venting the gases that result from getting non-race brake pads to hot, not to "cool" the brakes. This helps to prevent some of the peddal fad that driver's experience when pushing non-race brake pads to hard.
