Message	(for example, as you mentioned Ash's ECU) and his custom tuned, in-person, your-car-on-the-dyno program. If you have the custom tune, you don't need an SAFC. The AVCR is a boost controller, and you need something like that to control your turbos. I think Ash was developing something to use the OEM boost solenoids as a boost controller, with ECU control. Not sure where that's at though. SAFC is a band-aid, old-school approach, IMHO, before experienced tuners with on-the-spot EPROM burning capabilities were around. I used one in my old Z and it helped marginally correct my AFR. It was a very old 5 band SAFC 1 thought. The JWT chip I was using was pretty spot on.
