If could pick up a salvaged TT for 3-5k and put 10k into it, it cost you 15k to get a totally beast car. Or you could spend 20k to get a stock, garage queen 1995 TT with 10 thousand original miles that's been driven once a year. If your goal is a project car with high horsepower, the salvage car is a better place to start, assuming everything is running right and is just 'salvage' for some stupid minor accident or something along those lines
