| And possibly a few other parts.. like rods, girdle, wrist pins etc.. I have been doing some research on this and it sounds very promising. I remember hearing about this back in 2005 ish.. Has anyone have any personal reviews on this process? Possibly $$ figures? I am planning on doing this treatment to these parts so that it may make my journal surfaces and bearings more durable, since it seems as though the rod bearings are a weaker leak in our engines around 700rwhp+. Although, I do plan on having a preventative maintenance schedule on servicing my rod bearings etc.. I think that the WPC process may make them more durable and have less friction. I did find prices on connecting rod bearings.. costing ~$30.. Wouldn't hurt to have a few sets on hand, already completed.. Here is an excerpt from their website. "The WPC process is unrivalled in treating engine parts and other surfaces that have contact points of friction. WPC is superior because it is not a coating; it is a permanent surface treatment that reduces friction while strengthening the part. It's unique micro-dimple formation pattern greatly reduces friction and is unmatched by conventional methods of surface treatment. WPC has the capacity to treat carburized, nitrided and plated parts without noticeable dimensional changes, and, upon completion of treatment, no further modifications are required of the parts. The strength and durability improvement on the surface after the WPC treatment is unsurpassed by any current methods. Treatable products include steel, aluminum, titanium, copper and brass and soft surfaced bearings. WPC can treat any metallic item in a disassembled state. Furthermore, solid lubricants such as Tin (Sn) and Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2) can be utilized as media in the WPC process to embed them into the product surface" (Which would be great for Main/Rod bearings) Here is the link for the website.
