Message Last night driving home from dinner I was driving and it was cooler out so the T TOPS were off and just enjoying the drive and saw my roommate riding up beside me in his camaro. Anyways he yells at me to get on it and I just shake my head and told him I had a bad feeling well my gf decides to persuade me to blow by him well it worked and I lay into the throttle and then I feel the car downshift and start to get into boost and about 8 to 9 seconds into boost I get a weird feeling and look at the boost gauge. Well it was reading 20lbs or so when my car is only supposed to hit 13lbs, so I quickly went to lay off the throttle but right as I went to lift I heard a incredibly loud pop followed by a backfire/flame and the temp gauge peg straight red and the boost just fall off and white smoke everywhere out of the exhaust. Well all the sudden I go to pull over and the temp gauge goes down and the car starts running better so I pull over and pop the hood and it just stinks smells like burned/burning rubber and metal. Well I get a towtruck to come out and get it while my roommate takes my gf home, so I get it back to the house and its in the garage and I'm looking around and decide that it has a chance to be the headgasket so I check the oil and sure enough its like a milky look. Well I go to start the car and it does not want to start so I locked the door put the T Tops back on and walk inside. I plan on doing a compression test on the car tomorrow but until then it sits so I'm thinking the headgasket more than anything. So my question is this How bad is this for my motor? I know its a substantial job and all but is my motor trash or should I look for a jdm motor or get one off of here, basically if it my headgasket what's my best option in this matter? Thanks in advance guys..
