Just roughy for #1 -- I'd say in the $7k-$10k range depending on whether rest of car was just in fair condition or pretty decent (and assuming there's confidence about who did the re-build, known shop with good track record, etc). For #2 with the backfire issues, if I was confident it wasn't something major, maybe $5-6k? Engine issues would be a concern for me (since it could have been doing this for a while?) --- I'd probably pass on this one, but giving out some $$$ ranges since you had asked....
