Message I believe those are vanes that direct air towards the purge resonators. Note they are perforated. The purge resonators are there for sound purposes.

The first picture of a failed vane is bad, but I've never seen one do that, and I've seen quite a few B&B setups on 2+0s and 2+2s. I've personally owned mine for 8 years, and the only weld failure it suffered was a muffler hook which was from my carelessness (hung the full weight of the exhaust on one hook, developed a stress crack that catastrophically failed a few months later). How many failed ones have you seen to warrant calling it a common issue?

I just called to confirm that they do indeed sell straight through mufflers, not chambered ones.

BTW, the name Tri-Flo is just a name from their original Porsche headers that seems to have stuck with the product line, I don't think it has any literal meaning concerning the 300zx exhaust. (thanks Vic)
