coming stock with 245/45/16 doesn't mean that 245/45/16 is the best all-around size. Many choose 255 width and/or 50 aspect ratio for extra traction... or we go with a more performance-oriented wheel arrangement altogether, because while 16's were all the rage in 1989, knowledge tends to expand as time moves on, and wider and larger wheels allow more traction and bigger brakes. Your desire to stay stock is, as I said, irrational. There are better options out there. Unless you're going for a factory-stock show car (you're a few decades early, and SOL on getting the stock tires), there's no good reason to limit yourself to the factory size. So quit crying about the lack of availability and either buy one of your two options, pick a different size, or start your own tire company and release tires in a size that only a handful of Z32 owners actually want.
"When you say this, will you be surprised if your arguments seem to move about instead of staying put? And will you accuse me of being Daedalus who makes them move, though you are yourself much more skillful than Daedalus and make them go around in a circle? Or do you not realize that our argument has moved around and come again to the same place? [...] Or do you not remember?" - Socrates |
