Message I guess you realize what that means: some cool new toys attached :)

Who knew, when I was dropping the car off that it would be an adventure in figuring out how to tame a dreaded '96? Everything was against us - from new and different parts on '96 to devil-inspired OBD || sensors.

But despite it all, at the end I have the famed SZ 'breather' update. Our goal was to get to 400 RWHP on 91 octane gas. Though we didn't quite get there, I'm rather pleased with the result. The last tune done about 7 years ago, the car pulled 396 on 100 octane (on a hot day).

Below is a dyno chart that shows what was achieved on 91 gas.

But the numbers don't tell the whole story. I'd say the seat-of-the-pants feeling is that the car is a lot more responsive than even on 100 octane before the mods.

This is the chart on 100 octane

So, the obvious question is 'why can't it develop higher numbers on 100 octane'?
The answer appears to be in the fact that a '96 doesn't need to have higher HP. It's inherently faster (and much better looking to boot) than any prior year. But having a feeling the crowd here will not be satisfied with this answer, another reason is that cams on '96 are much less aggressive than 90-95. Oh, and I don't have manifolds changed.

Once I collect enough coin, I will go for the cams and manifolds upgrade.

So, in short, the upgrades are 3" exhaust, AshSpec ICs, Selin setup, Z1 TB, 2.5" piping, Koyo rad, Stillen oil cooler, JSPEC fascia.

The car is quite a bit louder now. On the positive side I can sell my Stillen (Greddy, really) mufflers. :)

Thanks for reading!
