Message how would visually inspecting your timing belt not do you any good? if by chance you got a bad timing belt that started to lets say fray for no apparent reason Id like to think that by visually being able to see the damage to my timing belt I'd have to cognitive skills to not drive the car anymore until it was replaced, Had I not been able to see this premature wearing on my timing belt until my next scheduled replacement it may be to late

Replacing a defective timing belt before the next scheduled maintenance would definitely be an advantage over not being able to spot the damage until the cover was removed, and lets be honest… who thinks to check, and when they do who actually wants to wrestle with taking off the covers?
