The "law" myth has apparently been contrived by the folks that sell JDM engines. However, many ppl there do trade in their cars with low miles because of the high inspection fees that occur once the vehicle reaches a certain age. The honest JDM importers will tell you that the mileage may vary significantly. Also, because gasoline is so expensive in Japan they buy new cars more frequently than we do to improve fuel-efficiency. In other words, you MAY be getting a low mile engine, but maybe not. If you search on here you will find that the JDM engine sometimes have their own set of associated problems due to the length of time and manner of storage.
