Message	Self Learn, also known as Long Term Fuel Trim does not provide a compensation for an overall lean or rich condition outside of closed loop. I had read that it uses the information determined in closed loop to adjust the overall fuel map. This way it could make global corrections to fuel supply and correct for a weak fuel pump or slightly clogged injectors.
