I noticed on my NA.. when I replaced the Greddy H-pipe with two separate pipes, the "raspy-ness" was very loud.. However; It was on an NA, so it would be alot more noticeable anyways. On my TT.. I have the 3" turbo-back (3" V.I.R test pipes) and 3" B&B exhaust.. With the B&B X-pipe, it really mellowed out the tone.. very smooth sounding. I would like to say that having the X-pipe or merged the way you do would increase the exhaust velocity and scavenging effect right? On my TT, I went from the -3" dp, 3" tp, 2.5 exhaust (B&B) to -3" dp, 3" tp, 2.5" B&B x pipe and HKS hiper mufflers to -3" dp, 3" tp, 3" full (B&B) X-pipe and mufflers.. the full 3" (by butt dyno/sound) I must say that the full 3" x-pipe/exhaust (B&B) was better in performance and sound.
The B&B muffler have vertical "stack chambers".. instead of a "straight through" style like the HKS etc. IMO the B&B 3" turbo back sounded the best and was least annoying and less resonance than the straight through style muffler. I really liked the merge area of the 3" B&B X-pipe compared to the 2.5" system or any H-pipe for that matter.. Maybe you should consider selling a resonated X-pipe setup like you built, It seems it will have less exhaust restriction than two small separate resonators and also keep the sound down a tad.
