Message It is just getting closer and closer. I am at 98,0XXk. The car is running great everytime I drive it. All electronics and options still function perfectly. The motor is new, fully built and strong. The exterior is very clean, with fresh paint and nice stance.

But that filthy, evil odometer is just rubbing my face in the fact that every time I go out and enjoy the car, it gets that much closer to the magical line, "100000.0" That thing disgusts me.

And dont think that I havent taken a look at your odometers as well when you post pics. Some of you are in the same boat as me. Some of you are already well past the incident and obviously in the recovery process. And some of you lucky bastards still have 10 years on your Z before you reach this point. Oh the innocence of youth!

What if all the options start to fall apart and fail soon after? What if the transmission goes? What if the value of the car drops after that point?

I know that ultimately it is a car meant for personal enjoyment. And I will keep it well after the 100k mark. But it is like finding out your daughter is a porn star. Somebody else put a lot of miles and had lots of fun with her! Now I am the one stuck with watching the ODO go over 100k, restoring it, changing its diapers and giving it its enema.

But seriously I think the best thing for this car after 100k may be a 98+ tranny and more drivetrain upgrades. Saving money to ultimately blow. Is that the best way to cope? How did you guys cope? What should I look for in the body? Rust? Weak points, wear points? Wiring?

Since my ODO reading on the title says "exempt" should I just destroy that damn thing and quit worrying about it?
