Message An exhaust system benefits from exhaust scavenging and balancing the 2 sides.
A turbo simply wants to suck air as freely as possible.
The stock tee is horrible and causes the 2 sides to fight for the air from the center section.
The correct way to make the intake for 2 separate turbos is to completely separate the 2 sides so that the turbo can suck the air as freely as possible.
Joining the pipes together can cause turbulence and cause the turbo to work harder to suck. Adding plates inside that design was even worse and does not even deserve a comment.
I understand why it was built, as the JWT way was not perfect either and I can understand when running one MAF and not wanting to install a low speed hose why he got there.
With the Selin unit available to read all the air I see no reason to not completely separate the two sides and IMO this will allow the most easy path into the turbo.
Ash has done some great things and I am not wanting to make this a big deal. A simple question was asked and I am offering my opinion. Running a single MAF dual pop set up was a way around the low speed kit at the time he developed the product.
