Message The JDM fog lights have an ancilliary (194 type) bulb staggered offset within the reflector. It does not come on when the ignition is on. That small light bulb is intended as a curbside parklight and nothing more as the JDM Z's do not have a park light in the corner turn signal lense like the USDM Z's. Placing a higher wattage ancilliary bulb in there will still not be enough for DRL purposes.

Perhaps something here may help with your wiring. La-Z-Link

IIRC, by looking to the Cdn spec wiring diagram section in the FSM, you'll see in the subsection identified as Cdn DRL that it powers the high beam bulbs (at a lower voltage) when the ignition is on. One click of the light switch (on a Cdn Spec Z) will bring on the park lights and the DRL's will remain (when the ignition is still on). When the light switch is moved to the second position the headlights come on and naturally the DRL function is disengaged.
