potential by anyone yet, honestly. Between the advances in gear coatings that are finally trickling down to us from the F1/NASCAR Race Tech sites, internal gear engagement tricks of the trade and overall advances in ALC/Line lock/Internal Fluid Pressure Stabilization technology....I think we have barely scratched the surface. And for good reason, the stock 5spd has always been labeled pretty much "bullet proof" and the AT has always been labeled "adequate" to "more than reliable". It's like anything else. These are the early baby steps of advancements for us in the power train development era of the Z32, besides what little was offered from over the ocean in the late 90's thanks to companies that pushed the limits of speeds for the Z32 (JUN, Blitz, Central 20, etc). So for everyone out there that complain, calm down....it's something new.....for now. But these are steps in the right direction. Personally, I applaud any vendor moving in the right direction of positive change, be it baby steps or leaps and bounds, especially on an aging Japanese based car like ours. Lastly, remember that things like valving and snychros have now come A LOOOOOONG WAY since the inception of the AT/5spd trannys that made their way into the Z32. Hats off to JWT, Z1 and any other vendor for that matter still willing to support the scene.
