since it was cheap and available locally. It's a fel-pro gasket, and the holes are slightly off and the gasket is about 1/4" too short on the oil pump side to begin with. I stretched and heated it up and bolted an oil pump to the pan, the rest of the holes are close enough that you could squeeze a bolt through them while installing, but the half-moon parts are what worried me.
It seems like it'd be very difficult to assure they properly seat in their grooves while installing the pan in car. There would be no way to check either with the crank pulley and trans/clutch/fywheel in the way too. It'd be something I'd try if the motor was out of the car and I could make sure it was installed correctly. Otherwise I'm not going to risk it.
