| Well my engine builder saw my wanted ad for a used fan shroud and I guess he had a brand new one sitting around so he mailed it to me. Got it today and it is brand spanking new, great early Christmas present. I feel dumb asking this because of course the natural answer is to "put it on!" and believe me, I want to. But I think in a month or two I will be installing some BDE sprockets and ATI race damper as well as getting a tune. Knowing how I am with tools and mechanic work (not to mention bending and forcing these shrouds in and out) it would only be a matter of time before this shroud is all scratched up and loses that lovely brand new look. I would really like to sand it down and possibly hit it with some black plasti-dip. I was wondering if anyone has any pointers on sanding and possibly coating this thing to stand up to my abuse? Or if I should just wait until I get all my work done up there in the front before putting on a brand new shroud.... Also I want to give a shout out to my mechanic Tom Than in Houston for continuing to look out for me and my Z that he assembled! I cant say enough what it means to have a builder/guru that will answer all phone calls of the stupidest magnitude and out of the blue just send free parts!
