| I've been watching my aunt and grandmother and now cousin in her young 20s battle with various cancers, and I know how difficult it can be and how helpless it can make you feel. It's good she's got someone like you there to support her. I hope the doctors are able to get it all out of her. I'd recommend learning about the thyroid because it has such a whole effect on the mind AND body both. It would be useful for you to be aware of what to notice, from the outside, for her. I watched an old boyfriend's mother deal with thyroid issues that changed her energy levels, her outlook on life, and to some degree her personality, so it's hard for me to believe you can take one pill and all's peachy. She had to regulate doses and occasionally change them. I believe it will help so much if you can also be keeping an eye on her and giving her feedback about any changes in behavior or outlook or whatever that she may not notice.
