Typical r & r for a jdm where i strip it down to the longblock and check everything, replacing stuff, resealing, deleting, fabbing and 35 40 hours is not far off if i am doing all the work. Obviously i can't charge them for the full 40 hours since i reconise no one will come to me if i do that. As an example i am doing the following for a customer. Clutch, rear main, dp, tp, 120k, plenum pull, re seal the top of the motor, egr delete, pcv relocate, upgraded inj. Basically everything short of pulling the motor and i have more hours than i care to count. Just degreasing all the parts takes 2 - 3 hours. Point is if i have to stand behind something i will do it right even if i can not charge because the last thing i want is for the customer to come back for the same thing. I know of plenty of shops that will actually "throw" a jdm motor in w/o doing anything. There is one in Tampa, i get a lot of work from their ex customers. You might know them :). funny thing is they are far more sucessfull than they should be because most people are looking at the bottom line and don't care if i cleaned their bell housing and valvecovers :) Harry
