A good mechanic is going to pay attention to the other stuff that's exposed as he goes in, and deal with issues that present themselves while they're accessible. And in an engine bay that gets as hot as these do, there will be some items that need refreshing. I wouldn't want a job like that rushed. You don't have to live in a bubble just because someone else caught the flu.
